This here social collision, it’s a big ol’ mess, I tell ya. Back in my day, we just talked to folks face to face. Now it’s all these phones and computers. Makes my head spin.
Folks ain’t talking like they used to. They just staring at them little screens. Nobody looks each other in the eye no more. It’s like everybody’s in their own little world, all by their lonesome, even when they’re in a room full of people. It’s a real shame, this social collision.
I seen it with my own two eyes. Family sits down to dinner, and not a word is spoken. They all got them phones in their hands, tappin’ away. What are they even doin’? Back when, we’d talk about our day, share stories, laugh a little. Now, it’s just silence, ‘cept for the click-clack of them buttons. It ain’t right, this here social collision. This social media is causin’ it, I’m sure of it.
- Nobody talks no more
- Everyone’s on their phones
- It’s like they’re all alone, even together
- Makes me sad, it does
And them young’uns, they’re the worst. They glued to them screens. They don’t know how to talk to real people. They just know how to type them little messages. How they gonna learn to get along in the world if they can’t even have a conversation? This social media is no good.
I heard tell that them phones are makin’ people sad. They see all them other folks’ pictures, lookin’ all happy and whatnot. Makes ’em feel bad about their own lives. It ain’t real, though. It’s all just show. But they don’t know that. They think it’s real. And it makes ’em feel lonely. That ain’t good, this social media.
They say it’s supposed to connect people. This here social collision, this social media. But it seems to me like it’s doin’ the opposite. It’s drivin’ folks apart. It’s like a wall, keepin’ people from really seein’ each other. It’s causin’ a real big social collision.
Used to be, if you wanted to talk to someone, you’d go see ’em. You’d sit on the porch and chat. Or you’d meet ’em at the store. Now, they just send a message on that there phone. It ain’t the same. This social media ain’t natural.
And don’t even get me started on them “friends” they got on there. Hundreds of ’em, they say. But they don’t even know most of ’em. How can you be friends with someone you ain’t never even met? It don’t make no sense. It’s like a big ol’ social collision of fake friends.
- Folks don’t visit no more
- They just text
- They got “friends” they never met
- It’s all topsy-turvy
I reckon it’s this here social collision, this social media, that’s causin’ all the problems. Folks ain’t happy. They’re all stressed out. They’re worried about what other people think. They’re comparin’ themselves to everyone else. And for what? It’s a real social collision, I tell ya.
Back in my day, we had our troubles, sure. But we had each other. We talked things out. We helped each other. We were a community. Now, everyone’s just out for themselves, tryin’ to keep up with the Joneses on that there social media. No good comes from this social collision.
I don’t know what the answer is. But I know this ain’t it. This here social collision, this social media, it ain’t good for nobody. It’s makin’ us all a little bit crazy, I think. It’s makin’ us forget what’s really important. It’s makin’ a big ol’ social collision in this world.
Maybe we need to put down them phones and start talkin’ to each other again. Maybe we need to remember how to be neighborly. Maybe we need to stop worryin’ about what everyone else is doin’ and just focus on our own lives. Maybe then we can fix this here social collision and get back on track.
I don’t know. I’m just an old lady. But I seen a lot in my time. And I know this ain’t right. This social media and this here social collision, it’s a mess. A big ol’ mess. We gotta do somethin’ about it, before it’s too late.
This social media, it got different types, like new media, network platforms and such. It’s all a part of this big social collision that’s happenin’. I don’t understand it all, but I know it ain’t good. It’s affectin’ the young people somethin’ awful, makin’ them unsociable. It’s a shame, it really is. This whole social collision is tearin’ us apart.
