Well, hello there, everyone! Today, we gonna talk about this… this “born this way makeup,” or whatever them young folks call it. I tell you what, when I was a young gal, born this way meant you got dirt on your face from workin’ in the fields, not some fancy paint! But times change, I guess. So, let’s figure out what this here makeup is all about.
What in the world is “Born This Way” makeup anyway?
From what I gather, this “born this way” makeup ain’t about lookin’ like a movie star. It’s about lookin’…well, like yourself, but maybe a little bit better. Like you woke up lookin’ all fresh and rested, even if you was up all night chasin’ chickens outta the garden, ya know? It’s supposed to be simple, easy, and make you feel good about yourself. Not like you got a whole cake on your face.
- First thing first, you gotta wash that face good. Get all that sleep out of your eyes and any dirt you might have picked up. They call it “CTM” now, somethin’ fancy, but for me, it’s just soap and water.
- Then, they say put on some kinda cream, a moisturizer I think they call it. Makes your face soft like a baby’s behind, they say. I guess it can’t hurt.
- Now comes the paintin’. But remember, we ain’t tryin’ to look like a clown. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. They use somethin’ called a “foundation.” It’s supposed to make your face all one color, cover up them red spots and whatnot. Use your fingers, use a brush, whatever works for ya.
Covering up those little “oopsies” on your face
Okay, so you got that foundation stuff on. Now, if you got any spots or marks, you know, those little “oopsies” on your face, you gotta cover ’em up. They got these little sticks for that, concealers, they call ’em. Just dab a little bit on and blend it in. Don’t look like you got polka dots all over your face, ya hear?
Making your eyes pop, but not too much
Next up, the eyes. Now, I ain’t never been one for much eye stuff, but a little bit can make you look more awake, I guess. Some folks put on that dark line stuff, eyeliner, they call it. And some put on that shadow stuff, makes your eyes look bigger or somethin’. Just a little bit, mind you. We ain’t goin’ to a dance hall.
Giving your cheeks a little bit of color
Then there’s the cheeks. A little bit of color on your cheeks makes you look healthy, like you been out in the sun, even if you been stuck inside all day. They got this powder stuff for that, blush, they call it. Just a little dab on the apples of your cheeks. Smile and you’ll see where to put it.
Finishing it off with some lip stuff
And last but not least, the lips. Now, I like a little bit of color on my lips. Makes me feel fancy. They got all sorts of stuff for lips, lipstick, lip gloss, all that jazz. Pick a color you like, somethin’ that looks natural, and slap it on. Not too much, though, or you’ll look like you ate a whole bowl of berries.
Makeup tools: What do you really need?
Now, these young folks, they got all sorts of fancy brushes and sponges for this makeup stuff. But honestly, you don’t need all that. Your fingers work just fine, especially when you are starting out. If you want to get fancy, maybe get a brush or two, but don’t go breakin’ the bank. A good brush for the powder stuff and maybe one for the eye stuff is all you really need.
Feeling fresh and confident all day long
So, there you have it. That’s what I reckon this “born this way” makeup is all about. It’s about lookin’ like yourself, but a little bit better. It’s about feeling fresh and confident. It ain’t about hidin’ who you are, it’s about showin’ the best version of yourself. And remember, the most important thing ain’t the makeup, it’s the smile you wear on your face. That’s what really makes you beautiful.
Practice makes perfect, they say
And don’t worry if you don’t get it right the first time. It takes practice. Just keep playin’ around with it and you’ll figure it out. And if you mess up, well, just wash it off and start again. It ain’t the end of the world.
Now, go on and make yourself pretty, and don’t forget to face the day with a smile. You are beautiful, ya hear? Just the way you were born…well, maybe with a little bit of help from some makeup!
