Okay, so I tried this lash lift thing. I’d seen those lash lift before and after pics online, and I was like, “Why not?” My lashes are okay, but I wanted that wide-eyed look without having to mess with mascara every day.
First, I had to book an appointment. That was a whole thing in itself, trying to find a place that looked legit and not like they’d mess up my eyes. Finally found one, and I booked it.
Before the day, they told me to come in with clean lashes. No biggie, I just washed my face really well that morning. I skipped all my eye makeup, which was weird because I usually at least wear a little mascara.
When I got there, the lady, Naomie was her name I think, explained everything. She was nice, made me feel a bit more relaxed about having someone poke around my eyes. She put these little pads under my eyes, and then these silicone rods on my eyelids. That was a strange feeling, but not painful.
Then she put on some kind of solution. It didn’t smell great. I had to keep my eyes closed the whole time, which was the hardest part. I’m a bit of a fidgeter. She said this was to “lift” the lashes. We waited, she cleaned it off, and put on another solution. More waiting. I almost fell asleep, honestly.
Finally, she took everything off. I was so curious to see how it looked! She handed me a mirror and…wow. My lashes were definitely curled. It really did open up my eyes. It wasn’t super dramatic, which I liked. Just enough to make a difference.
But, here’s the thing. She told me I couldn’t get them wet for 24 hours. That’s harder than it sounds! I had to be super careful washing my face that night. I almost splashed water in my eyes out of habit.
- Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s nice not having to wear mascara.
- Was it worth it? I think so. It does make my eyes look more awake.
- Would I recommend it? Yeah, but make sure you go to someone who knows what they’re doing. And be ready to keep your eyes dry for a day!
After all this:
So that’s my lash lift story. It wasn’t too crazy, but it was definitely an experience. If you’re thinking about it, I say go for it. Just do your research and be prepared for the no-water rule!
