Okay, so, I’ve been seeing this “Scandinavian hairline” thing popping up all over my social media feeds lately, and I gotta say, I was intrigued. It’s basically a way to lighten those tiny baby hairs around your face to make your whole hair color look brighter and more natural, like you just spent a summer chilling on a beach in Scandinavia. Sounds pretty good, right?
So, I decided to give it a go myself. Now, I’m no hair expert, but I’ve dyed my hair a few times before, so I figured, how hard could it be? I grabbed my usual box of blonde hair dye, the one I use for highlights, and got to work.
First, I pulled my hair back into a ponytail, leaving out those fine, wispy hairs around my hairline. Then, I carefully applied the dye just to those baby hairs. This was a little tricky, I’m not gonna lie. Those little suckers are hard to isolate! I used a small brush, the kind you’d use for painting details, to make sure I was only getting the dye where I wanted it.
I followed the instructions on the box for how long to leave the dye in. Then I covered my hairline with plastic wrap. After that, I hopped in the shower, rinsed it all out, and conditioned my hair like normal.
Once I dried my hair, I was pretty stoked with the results! My overall hair color did look brighter and more natural, and it really did give me that “just got back from vacation” vibe. It’s like my whole face just looked more awake and glowy.

Totally! This is definitely going to be a regular part of my hair routine from now on. It’s such a simple little thing, but it makes a big difference.
