Today, I’m gonna talk about my afternoon tea experience at The Goring. To be honest, I was just browsing around, looking for a fancy place to spend an afternoon, and The Goring popped up. Looked luxurious and kinda historical, so I thought, why not give it a try?

So, I booked a table for their afternoon tea. The booking process was quite simple, did it all online. Got a confirmation email pretty quickly, too. I chose a time slot in the afternoon ’cause, you know, it’s afternoon tea.
When the day came, I got all dressed up – had to look the part, right? I arrived at The Goring, and man, the place is grand! Felt like I was stepping into one of those old British movies. The staff were super polite, greeted me with big smiles, and showed me to my table.
The table was set up all fancy with fine china and silverware. I ordered their award-winning afternoon tea set. They had a bunch of different teas to choose from, and I just picked one that sounded interesting. And since I was feeling a bit extra, I also added a glass of Bollinger Champagne.
What’s in the Tea Set?
- Pastries: They were these cute little cakes and tarts, all arranged beautifully on a tiered stand. Tasted as good as they looked, I gotta say.
- Scones: Came warm with clotted cream and jam. Honestly, I could’ve just eaten a whole plate of these.
- Sandwiches: Your classic finger sandwiches – cucumber, salmon, the usual. Pretty standard, but still good.
While I was enjoying my tea, I also noticed they had a forager who brought in some fresh truffles and wild herbs. Guess they use those in their dishes. Pretty cool, huh? I also found out that The Goring’s been around for over a century, run by the same family. Makes you feel like you’re part of some long-standing tradition.
Overall, I spent a good couple of hours there, just relaxing, enjoying the food and the atmosphere. It was definitely a luxurious experience, but also kinda chill. If you’re ever in Belgravia and want to treat yourself, I’d say check it out. It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon, even if you’re not a huge tea person. That’s all for today’s sharing!
