I’ve been eyeing these Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray” shoes for a while. You know, the ones with that crazy skeleton design on the upper? I finally decided to pull the trigger and get a pair. It wasn’t easy, these things are like gold dust!
First, I spent hours online, checking every sneaker website. I mean every single one. Most of them were either sold out or had them marked up to some insane price. I wasn’t about to pay double the retail value. No way!
After digging deeper, I stumbled upon a few smaller stores that I had never heard of before. I called them up, one by one, only to be constantly disappointed, like 90% of them were sold out and 10% of them didn’t even answer the phone, so I had to skip them.
But finally, finally, I got lucky. There was this one shop, a bit out of my way, but they confirmed they had my size. I jumped in my car immediately. I was so excited, that I might be the fastest driver on the way to the shop.
When I got there, I saw them. That vibrant blue, that detailed skeleton graphic, it was even better in person. I tried them on, and they fit perfectly. They are super light and comfy. I knew I couldn’t leave without them.
I bought them right there, I was so happy. I wore them out of the store, naturally. I mean, who wouldn’t? After walking around in them for a while, I realized they’re not just lookers. They felt great on my feet, super supportive and responsive. You can tell they were designed for performance.

I took them to the court for a quick test and they were fantastic to play in. Great grip, good cushioning. They feel like an extension of my own feet. I am so glad that I got these shoes.
Here’s what I did to get these shoes:
- Scoured the internet for hours, checking every sneaker website.
- Found some smaller, lesser-known sneaker stores.
- Called each store to check for availability and price.
- Drove to a store that had them in stock.
- Tried them on to make sure they fit well.
- Bought them on the spot and wore them out.
- Tested them out on the court to see how they perform.
It was a real journey getting these Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray”, but totally worth it. They look amazing, feel amazing, and play amazing. If you can get your hands on a pair, do it! You won’t regret it. Trust me.
