Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya’ll somethin’ about this here Hermes thingy, this “pop up” in the big ol’ New York City. They call it “petit h,” sounds fancy, huh? I reckon it’s somethin’ special, seein’ as they’re makin’ a big fuss over it.
So, what’s this “petit h” all about? From what I gather, it’s like, they take all them leftover bits and bobs from makin’ their fancy-schmancy Hermes stuff – you know, the bags and such – and they make somethin’ new out of it. Kinda like when I used to take my old feed sacks and turn ’em into quilts, only way fancier, I bet. They say it’s all about bein’ “sustainable” and “creative.” Sounds like good sense to me, not wastin’ nothin’ and all.
Now, they’re settin’ up shop in this place called “Maison Madison.” Big fancy store, I reckon, over there on Madison Avenue. Never been to New York myself, but I hear it’s a real bustling place. This ain’t the first time they’ve done this “petit h” thing, but it’s the first time they’re doin’ it at this particular store. They’re gonna be there for a spell, from October 11th to the 26th. Two weeks, that’s what they say.
- First off, it’s in New York City. Big place, lots of folks.
- Second, it’s at a store called Maison Madison. Sounds highfalutin.
- Third, it’s called petit h. Don’t ask me why, sounds Frenchified to me.
They say these artist fellers are bringin’ the city inside the store. I ain’t quite sure what that means, but it sounds kinda neat. Maybe they got little yellow cabs and hot dog stands in there? Who knows? Them city folk are always up to somethin’ different.
This whole thing is about takin’ old stuff and makin’ it new. Like I said, kinda like makin’ quilts, only with Hermes leather and silk instead of feed sacks. They talk about it bein’ a “promise of free and playful creativity.” Well, I reckon that’s a fancy way of sayin’ they’re havin’ fun with it. And why not? Life’s too short to be serious all the time.
They got these bags, see? Kelly and Birkin bags, real expensive stuff. They got “Hermes-Paris” written on ’em. Guess that means they come all the way from France. Fancy, fancy. I reckon them bags cost more than my whole farm did back in the day.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this high-falutin’ fashion stuff. But I do know a thing or two about makin’ do with what you got. And I reckon that’s what this “petit h” is all about. Takin’ what other folks might throw away and turnin’ it into somethin’ beautiful and useful. That’s somethin’ I can understand, even if I can’t afford no Hermes bag.
So, if you find yourself in New York City between October 11th and 26th, maybe you wanna mosey on over to Maison Madison and take a look at this “petit h” thing. Might be somethin’ worth seein’. And if nothin’ else, you can tell folks you saw some fancy recycled art. That’s somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it?
Anyways, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. They’re makin’ new stuff from old stuff, over there in New York City. And it’s supposed to be real special. If you like fancy things, or if you just like seein’ folks get creative, then you might wanna check it out. Me? I reckon I’ll stick to my quiltin’. It’s a whole lot cheaper, and just as satisfyin’, I’d say.
And let me tell you, this whole thing about reusin’ materials? That’s just plain smart. We used to do it all the time on the farm. Nothin’ ever went to waste. Old clothes became rags, scraps of fabric became quilts, and even broken tools got fixed up or turned into somethin’ else. It’s a good way to live, I tell ya. And it seems like these fancy Hermes folks are finally catchin’ on.
So, there you have it. My take on this here “Hermes pop up nyc petit h.” Hope it made some sense to ya. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
