Oh, honey, let me tell you about these bright color clothing. You know, back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy colors. Just plain old browns and grays, mostly. But now? Whew! It’s like a rainbow threw up all over the place! And you know what? I kinda like it! Makes a body feel young again, I tell ya.
These young folks today, they wear all sorts of bright things. Bright color clothes are everywhere, like them flowers in my garden after a good rain. Pink, yellow, blue, green – you name it, they wear it! And it ain’t just the girls, neither. The boys, too! They ain’t afraid of a little color. Good for them, I say. Life’s too short to be wearin’ drab clothes all the time.
I saw a girl the other day, she had on this dress, bright as the sun. Yellow, it was. And she had some shoes, red as a fire truck. Now, I wouldn’t wear that myself, not these days. But she looked happy as a clam. And that’s what matters, right? Makes you stand out from the crowd, like a rooster in a hen house.
- That yellow dress, made her look like sunshine.
- Red shoes, like fire, she looked so happy.
- Pink shirt, oh, so pretty, like candy.
- Blue pants, like the sky, so bright!
Now, if you’re gonna wear these bright clothes, you gotta be careful. You don’t wanna look like a clown, you know? You gotta mix it up a little. Like, if you wear a bright shirt, maybe wear some plain pants. Black, or white, or something like that. That black, it goes with everything. Just like my old dog, bless his heart. He went with me everywhere.
And them patterns! Lord have mercy, the patterns these days. Stripes, and polka dots, and flowers, and I don’t even know what else. You can mix them up, too, they say. But you gotta be careful. Don’t want to look like you got dressed in the dark! Like that time I put on two different shoes, one black and one brown. My grandson, he laughed and laughed. He said, “Grandma, you’re so silly!”
Bright color clothing can be good for the soul. They say it makes you feel happier. Like when you see a rainbow after the rain. Makes you think of good things. And Lord knows, we need more good things in this world. My daughter bought me a bright pink shirt the other day. I thought, “Oh, honey, that ain’t for me.” But I put it on, and you know what? I felt kinda good! A little pep in my step, you know?
You can wear them bright colors on your shoes, too. Or your hat. Or even them things they call “accessories.” Like a scarf, or a bag. Just a little splash of color, like a little bit of hot sauce on your eggs. Wakes you right up! I saw a lady with a bright blue bag the other day. It was pretty, I gotta admit. Made her whole outfit pop, as they say. Like a kernel of corn in a hot pan!
Now I went to the market, saw a young boy in a green shirt so bright, I nearly needed my sunglasses. He was a fashion-forward boy, that one. And next to him, a girl all in pink, head to toe! Looked like a big piece of bubble gum. But you know what? They were smiling. And that’s all that matters. Bright clothes, make people smile I guess. These bright clothes ideas are good for young people.
They say you should wear what makes you feel good. And if bright color clothing makes you feel good, then you wear it! Don’t let nobody tell you different. Life’s too short to worry about what other people think. You just be you, honey. Like my old mama used to say, “You do you, and the world will adjust.” She was a smart woman, my mama. Knew a thing or two about life, she did.
These new style outfit ideas, they are every where. Red, brown, those colors good for fall, they say. Those young girls, they wear red boots, red skirts. And shirts, and dresses, too. All red! Just like the stop sign. My grandson, he likes red. He has red shoes, just like that fire truck again! And my granddaughter, she likes pink. She has a pink dress, pink shoes, even a pink hat. They are happy children. Always smiling.
And these classic pieces, they good, too. My daughter, she told me to wear shirts with buttons, and dresses like shirts, too. And flat shoes. She said, “Mom, it is time to be more classic.” I don’t know. Maybe she is right. But I still like my bright colors. Just a little, here and there. A little color never hurt nobody. Just don’t overdo it. That’s what I always say. Don’t overdo it, honey. In clothes, or in life. Just be yourself, and be happy. That is the best style, I think.
And they have this thing, they call the 3 color rule. They say you should wear three colors. One big color, one little color, and one tiny color. They say, one color most, another color not so much, and another color just a little. Like one big scoop of ice cream, one smaller scoop, and sprinkles on top. I don’t know about all that. But maybe they are right. Maybe it looks good. I will ask my granddaughter. She knows about these things. She’s a smart girl. Just like her grandma!
