Okay, so the other day I was watching TV, and this commercial for Jared The Galleria of Jewelry came on. It got me thinking, who actually owns Jared? You know, like who’s the big boss behind all those sparkly diamonds and engagement rings? So I grabbed my laptop and started digging.
First, I hit up Google, naturally. Typed in “who owns Jared jewelers” and bam! A whole bunch of articles popped up. Turns out, it’s not some small-time family business or anything. It is this huge company called Signet Jewelers. Apparently, they’re the big shots in the diamond retail world.
Signet Jewelers, the Big Cheese
So, Signet Jewelers, huh? I dug a little deeper into them. They’re not just about Jared, they own a ton of other jewelry stores too. I’m talking Kay Jewelers, Zales, Blue Nile, James Allen, and a bunch more. They’ve got like, 2,800 stores! It is kind of mind-blowing when you think about it. And they are based in Bermuda, interesting right?
- Kay Jewelers
- Zales
- Jared
- Blue Nile
- And many more!
Jared’s History
Then I started looking into Jared’s history specifically. Founded in 1993, I found out that the people behind Jared were two brothers, Bill and Robert Zimmer. And guess what? They were third-generation jewelers, so it was kind of in their blood. They were inspired by their father’s jewelry business. That’s a neat little detail, right?
Signet’s Shopping Spree
Now, how did Signet get their hands on Jared? Well, seems like they went on a bit of a shopping spree. They bought up a bunch of different jewelry companies over the years. It says here that they bought James Allen in 2017. Before that, they acquired other brands and just kept growing and growing.
So, there you have it. The mystery is solved. Jared The Galleria of Jewelry is owned by Signet Jewelers, a major player in the jewelry game. They’ve got a whole empire of sparkly stores under their belt. It is way bigger than I initially thought! Kind of makes you look at those diamond commercials a little differently, huh? Anyways, that’s my little investigation for the day. Hope you found it as interesting as I did!
