Yo, what’s up, sneakerheads? Today, I wanna share my journey of dealing with some scuffed Jordans. We all know that feeling, right? You’re walking around, minding your own business, and then bam! You look down, and there it is, a nasty scuff on your favorite pair of kicks.
It all started when I copped a pair of used “White Cement” 3s. They were in decent condition, but they had some scuffs on the toe box and the heel. I was bummed, but I figured, “Hey, they’re pre-owned, what can you expect?” I tried using some wet wipes first, gently rubbing the scuffed areas, but that didn’t really do much. It just cleaned the dirt around the scuffs, making them even more noticeable.
Then, I remembered seeing these “Shoe Erasers” at the dollar store. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I went down there and picked up a pack. I got home, grabbed the eraser, and started gently rubbing the scuffs on my Jordans. I was careful not to press too hard, as I didn’t want to damage the leather.
To my surprise, the eraser actually started to work! The scuffs were slowly fading away. It took some time and effort, but eventually, most of the scuffs were gone. The shoes looked a whole lot better, not brand new, but definitely presentable. It’s a good temporary fix.
Later on, I also got a pair of used “Black Cement” 3s. These are my grails! The condition is pretty rough, with some minor scratches here and there. I used the same dollar store erasers, and they did help a little. However, the scratches are too deep for the erasers to completely remove.
So I decided to take a trip to the local shoe repair shop. I asked the guy there if he could do anything about the scratches. He inspected them and said he could try to fill them in with some leather filler and then repaint the area. I agreed, and he got to work.
A few days later, I picked up my “Black Cement” 3s from the shop. They looked a million times better! The scratches were barely visible, and the paint job was on point. I was super happy with the results, even though it cost me a bit more than the dollar store eraser. It’s well worth it to restore my beloved “Black Cement” 3s.
- Lesson learned: Dollar store erasers can be a lifesaver for minor scuffs.
- Another tip: For deeper scratches, don’t be afraid to take your kicks to a professional.
- Most importantly: Rock your Jordans with pride, scuffs and all! They tell a story.
That’s it for my scuffed Jordans story. Hope you guys found it helpful. Keep your kicks fresh, and remember, a little wear and tear just adds character!
