Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole “Paris Fall Fashion 2024” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and if I could pull any of it off. So first I spent some time looking into this.
First thing I did was dive into what people are saying is going to be big. I looked at what some designers like Burberry and Miu Miu are doing. Turns out, it’s a lot of comfy stuff mixed with some really out-there pieces. There is something called “Athletic sophistication”. I’m no athlete, but hey, if it looks good, I’m in. Also saw a lot of patent leather loafers. I guess they’re supposed to look classy. I’ve been wearing sneakers for years, so this was a change.
Then, there were these Mary Janes shoes, but flat ones. Reminded me of what my grandma used to wear, but I guess they’re cool again? Found some online and ordered a pair. While I was at it, I saw that gray denim is a big deal, so I grabbed some jeans too. Oh, and shiny fabrics! I’m not sure how I feel about looking like a disco ball, but I got a shiny top just to try it out.
Here’s what I tried to mix and match during a whole afternoon:
- Outfit 1: Gray denim jeans, a plain white V-neck top (apparently V-necks are good for everyone), and those shiny patent leather loafers. Felt a bit weird, not gonna lie, but kind of stylish?
- Outfit 2: A flowy skirt I found with those Mary Janes. It was… different. Not sure if it’s my style, but I didn’t hate it.
- Outfit 3: That shiny top with some regular jeans and just regular sneakers. Okay, this was a fail. I looked like I was trying way too hard.
Boho is another big thing
I guess it never really went away. There were a ton of fringe, fake fur, and knee-high boots. I skipped the fur ’cause, well, it’s not really my scene. But I did get a bag with some fringe on it. And plaid stuff is in, which I actually like. Got a plaid coat that I think I’ll wear a lot.
Then, I got into the whole accessories thing. Sculptural bags? Sure, why not. Got one that looks like a piece of modern art. 3D florals on clothes seemed a bit much, but I found a scarf with some floral stuff on it. Split-leg pants? I saw them, I considered them, I decided to pass. Not for me. Saw people wearing flat caps. I tried one, looked in the mirror, and took it right off. Nope. Lace tights and sheer socks were everywhere. I got a pair of each, but I’m still on the fence about them. Bermuda shorts in the fall? I don’t know, man, seems a bit chilly for that. I did find some biker boots that I loved, though. And ruched dresses! I tried a couple, and they’re actually pretty nice. Oh, and pinstripes are back. Got a pinstripe blazer that makes me feel like a boss.
So, yeah, that’s my adventure in 2024 Paris Fall Fashion. It’s a mix of stuff I like, stuff I’m not sure about, and stuff I definitely won’t be wearing again. But hey, it was fun to try it all out. Maybe I’ll even keep some of these outfits in my rotation. Who knows?
