Hey everyone, today I want to talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – using AI to generate images, specifically of Kamala Harris. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
So, I started this whole thing because I was curious. AI’s getting pretty good at making pictures that look real, right? But I read somewhere that it’s kinda bad at making pictures of Kamala Harris. Weird, huh? I mean, she’s a big deal, you’d think AI would have no problem. I got curious and wanted to see for myself.
First, I tried a few different AI image generators. You know, the ones you just type in what you want, and boom, it spits out a picture. I typed in “Kamala Harris” and waited. The results? Let’s just say they were… interesting.
- Some of them looked nothing like her. Like, not even close.
- Others had her features all messed up. It was like looking at a funhouse mirror version of her.
- A few were okay-ish, but still, something was off. They just didn’t quite capture her, you know?
I was a bit confused. Why was this so hard for AI? Then I remembered something about Kamala being appointed as Biden’s “AI czar” last year. I guess she’s into AI and stuff. She even said that we shouldn’t have to choose between protecting people from AI and making it better. It’s not an “either-or” situation, she says. Makes sense, right?
Anyway, after seeing those weird AI pictures, I started to see her point a bit more clearly. It seems like even though AI is getting smarter, it still has a long way to go, especially with people. Getting all the details right, the nuances, that’s where it trips up. Maybe her being the AI czar will change things. I read somewhere that her ideas on AI are kind of like the EU’s AI Act, which I heard is pretty fair. I guess time will tell.
So, yeah, that’s my little AI adventure with Kamala Harris. It’s been a reminder that AI is cool and all, but it’s still got a lot to learn. I think that, just like Kamala said, we can make AI better while also making sure it doesn’t mess things up. I hope so, anyway.
