Okay, so I’ve been seeing this thing all over the internet – Fendi did a collab with Pokémon. Yeah, you heard that right. The high-fashion brand, known for its fancy bags and stuff, teamed up with those cute little pocket monsters. I had to check it out myself.
First thing, I went straight to their official announcement. Apparently, this whole thing is because of the Year of the Dragon, and they picked Dragon-type Pokémon. Smart, I guess. The big reveal was set for January 4th, so I marked my calendar.
When the day arrived, I was pretty hyped. I spent some time browsing through what they had. They weren’t kidding when they said it was a full collection. It wasn’t just bags – they had everything! I’m talking shirts, hoodies, keychains, even jewelry.
Bags
Of course, the bags were the main event. They took their classic Peekaboo and Baguette bags and slapped some Dragonites and Dratinis on them. Honestly, it looked kinda cool, in a weird, high-fashion-meets-childhood-nostalgia way. Not sure I’d buy one, though – those things are probably crazy expensive. These are the items that really caught my attention.
Clothes
The clothes were also a lot. They had this one t-shirt with a big Dragonite on it that I thought was alright. Nothing too special, but I can see people wearing it. They had some of the items with a print made out of a bunch of small Dratinis. It was cool, but it was not my type.
Other Stuff
The smaller stuff was kinda cute, I guess. They had these little Dratini keychains that were tempting. Also, there were some silk scarves that had Pokémon on them, but they were kinda plain. I was expecting more, to be honest.
After going through the whole collection, I came to the conclusion that this Fendi x Pokémon thing is… interesting. It’s definitely a statement. It’s like they’re saying, “Hey, we can be luxurious and playful at the same time.” It’s not really my style, but I can see why some people might be into it. The craftsmanship looked top-notch, as always with Fendi. But mixing that with Pokémon? It’s a choice, for sure.
In the end, I didn’t buy anything. It was fun to see, though. I did enjoy checking out all the different items and seeing how they incorporated the Pokémon designs. Would I recommend it? If you’re a die-hard Pokémon fan with a ton of money to burn, maybe. Otherwise, it’s probably just something fun to look at online.
