Well, I’ll tell ya, this whole thing about wearin’ stuff on both wrists, it’s kinda newfangled to me. You know, back in my day, we were lucky to have one watch, let alone two! But times, they change, don’t they? Now, these young folks, they got all sorts of gadgets and gizmos.
So, is it weird to have wearables on each wrist? I guess it depends on who you ask. Some folks, they might stare at you like you got two heads. They’ll think you’re showin’ off or somethin’. But then again, some folks, they don’t care what you do. They got their own problems to worry about.
I heard tell that some people wear a regular watch on one wrist and a smartwatch on the other. Seems kinda fancy to me. One watch tells the time, the other one does…well, I don’t rightly know what all it does. Counts your steps, maybe? Checks your heart? Heck, back in my day, we knew how far we walked by how tired our feet were, and we knew our heart was workin’ if we were still breathin’!
Some folks say it’s the “best of both worlds”. You get your fancy smartwatch stuff and your regular watch, too. I guess that makes sense if you’re into that kinda thing. Like havin’ your cake and eatin’ it too, as they say.
But I also heard some folks just wear two regular watches. Now, that’s somethin’ I can’t quite wrap my head around. Why on earth would you need two watches tellin’ you the same thing? Seems like a waste of good money to me. Unless, maybe, one watch is for tellin’ time here and the other one is for tellin’ time somewhere else. Like if you got family overseas or somethin’. But even then, seems like you could just figure it out in your head, right?
- One smartwatch for fitness and stuff.
- One regular watch for just tellin’ time.
- Two regular watches, which I still think is kinda silly.
And you know, it ain’t just watches neither. I’ve seen folks wearin’ those fitness trackers on one wrist and a watch on the other. Little bands that count your steps and whatnot. They say it helps them stay healthy. Well, I say a good day’s work on the farm will keep you healthier than any of them fancy gadgets! But to each their own, I always say. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody, so I guess it’s alright.
This whole “double-wristing” thing, as they call it, has been around for a while, apparently. Even famous folks used to do it. Not just for show, neither. Sometimes they had a reason. Like them astronauts, maybe they needed different watches for different things in space. I don’t know nothin’ about space travel, though, so don’t ask me.
Now, some young folks, they worry about lookin’ weird. They don’t want people starin’ at them. But I say, if you wanna wear two watches, go ahead and wear ’em! Don’t let nobody tell you what to do. Life’s too short to worry about what other folks think. You wear what you want, do what you want, as long as you ain’t hurtin’ nobody.
And let’s be honest, some of these gadgets are pretty useful. They can help you keep track of your health, stay connected, and all sorts of things. So maybe it ain’t so weird after all. Maybe it’s just the way things are goin’ now. Everything’s gettin’ more complicated, more technical. Hard for an old lady like me to keep up.
So, is it weird? Maybe a little. But does it matter? Not one bit. You do you, I say. If you like wearin’ stuff on both wrists, go right ahead. Don’t let nobody tell you it’s strange or silly. It’s your life, your wrists, your choice. And that’s all there is to it.
And another thing, people used to say phones would make watches disappear. But look at that, watches are still here, and now people wear even two at a time. Shows you that just because something is old, doesn’t mean it’s useless. Just like me, I may be old but I still got plenty of sense left!
So, wear your wearables with pride, I say! Whether it’s one, two, or ten of them, it’s nobody’s business but your own.
