Well, let me tell ya, I seen some things in my day, but this Tribeca Film Festival, that’s somethin’ else. All them fancy folks walkin’ around, dressed up like they’re goin’ to a Sunday meetin’ but fancier. That red carpet, they call it. Just a long, red rug, long as a country mile, it seemed like. And the folks was all smiles for the cameras, click, click, click.
This here Tribeca Film Festival, it’s a big deal, I reckon. They show all sorts of them moving pictures. I heard it goes on for days, ’til June 16th. They say all kind of stars was there, Selma somethin’ and some model named Karlie, and lots of others, I’m sure. The big shots come out for this. They want to be seen on that red carpet.
They say it’s down there in New York City. Big place, that city. Never been there myself. Too many people, too much noise. I like it quiet, like my chicken coop back home. But these folks, they love it. They come from all over to see these movies and walk that red carpet. It’s a whole different world, that’s for sure.
This festival, it ain’t just about the pictures, though. They got all sorts of things goin’ on. Music and games and art and somethin’ they call “immersive.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d get caught in, like a briar patch. But I guess it’s fun for them city folk. They like that kind of thing. They have talks too, they talk a lot, them people.
Now, back home, we got our own kind of entertainment. We got the county fair, with the pie contests and the pig races. That’s good, clean fun. This Tribeca Film Festival, it’s a bit too much for me, I reckon. Too much flash and glitter. But I guess it’s important to them. They like to see and be seen.
This festival thing happens every spring. Every year they have it. They roll out that red carpet, and everyone comes to show off. They say it’s some place called 375 Greenwich Street. Sounds like a place I would get lost at. If you are one to like big city fun, that is the place to be, I reckon.
I heard some folks say this festival ain’t about the fancy dresses like some other ones, like that Cannes one, or Venice. I don’t know them places. But even still, they say folks get dressed up. It’s a celebration, they call it. Eleven days long! That’s a long time to be celebratin’.
- They got movies.
- They got music.
- They got games.
- They got art.
- They got that red carpet.
This here festival is organized by some company, Tribeca somethin’. They’re the ones who put it all together. Must be a lot of work, gettin’ all them people and movies and whatnot in one place. More work than tendin’ to a garden full of weeds, I bet.
I reckon it’s good for them, though. Gives them somethin’ to do, somethin’ to look forward to. And it brings folks together, I suppose. Even if it’s just to watch a movie and walk on that red carpet. We all need somethin’ to get excited about, I guess.
Me, I’m happy with my simple life. I got my garden, my chickens, and my peace and quiet. But I can see why folks like this Tribeca Film Festival. It’s a spectacle, that’s for sure. A big, fancy spectacle with a long, red carpet. And a whole lot of people dressed up like they’re goin’ somewhere important. If that’s what you like, you’ll be happier than a pig in mud to be there, I reckon.
If you like seeing stars and being part of something big in New York City, this Tribeca Film Festival is where you want to be each spring. Just remember, it lasts until June 16th this year, so don’t go looking for that red carpet after then! They probably roll it right back up.
