Well, well, well, let me tell you somethin’ about this Golden Goose ownership. You see all them fancy shoes, lookin’ a little beat up but costin’ a fortune? Yeah, them’s Golden Goose. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I can still see that price tag, and let me tell you, it makes me want to sit down!

So, who owns this Golden Goose thing? From what I hear, some big-shot company called Permira, they’re the ones in charge now. They bought it up a while back. It was owned by Carlyle Group before. They buy and sell companies, like we swap seeds at the market. They bought it, then they sold it. It’s all about the money, honey, that’s all it is. Now Permira owns Golden Goose. Big money folks, that’s what they are.
They say these Golden Goose shoes, they’re made in Italy. Fancy, huh? Some folks, they work with their hands, makin’ these shoes. They been doin’ it the same way for a long, long time, over twenty years, I hear! Imagine that. Same hands, makin’ the same shoes, year after year. It was a small company making shoes, then those big companies bought it. Then the Golden Goose company bought that shoe company. Now the big company and the shoe company is the same company. My head spins just thinkin’ about it!
Now, these Permira folks, they’re like the head rooster in the henhouse. They call the shots. They had a plan, I heard. They were gonna put this Golden Goose thing on the stock market. Like sellin’ chickens at the fair, but with stocks instead. That was on June 21, it’s what the big shots say. But they didn’t do it.
These shoes, they got a look, you know? They say it is unique. Lookin’ worn out, but on purpose. Like my old work boots, but these ones cost more than my whole darn garden! It’s a mystery to me, but folks, they love ’em. They buy ’em up like hotcakes at the church social.
Can’t buy these Golden Goose stocks on the big market, though. Not yet, anyway. They say it’s “privately held.” Like a secret recipe, only certain folks can get in on it. These rich investor folks, they can buy a piece of Golden Goose before everyone else. They use somethin’ called “secondary marketplaces.” Sounds complicated to me.

- Permira owns Golden Goose.
- Carlyle Group owned it before.
- Golden Goose shoes are made in Italy.
- These shoes are made by hand!
- Golden Goose is not on the stock market.
- Golden Goose shoes are expensive!
- They look worn out, but that’s the style.
This whole Golden Goose ownership thing, it’s a bit like watchin’ a squirrel bury a nut. You know it’s there, you kinda know what’s goin’ on, but you ain’t quite sure exactly how it all works.
Some other companies, they try to make shoes like Golden Goose. I saw some names: Oliver Cabell, Tretorn, Steve Madden. They’re like the folks tryin’ to copy my prize-winnin’ apple pie recipe. They can try, but it ain’t never gonna be quite the same, you know?
These big companies like Permira and Carlyle, they’re like the big fish in a small pond. They buy and sell these companies, tryin’ to make more money. This Carlyle, they had Golden Goose for a while, back in 2017. Helped it grow bigger, like feedin’ a calf extra milk. Now Permira’s got it. They’re probably gonna try to make it even bigger. That’s how these things go.
I heard some folks say these Golden Goose shoes sell for as much as 1,000! Can you believe that? For shoes that look like they been dragged through the mud! It’s a crazy world, I tell ya.
They say Carlyle got Golden Goose in March 2017. They had a special fund, called Carlyle Europe Partners IV. Sounds fancy, right? It’s just a bunch of money they use to buy companies in Europe. Like a big ol’ piggy bank, just for buyin’ companies.

This whole Golden Goose ownership, it makes my head spin. These rich folks playin’ with companies like they’re toys. Buyin’ and sellin’, tryin’ to make a buck. It’s all beyond me. I’ll stick to my garden, thank you very much. At least I understand how that works.
