So, I finally got my hands on one of those limited-edition Wicked Stanley cups, and let me tell you, the whole experience was a bit of a wild ride. I heard rumors that these things were going to be available at Target, both in-store and online, starting October 13th. Naturally, being a big fan of Wicked and, of course, a Stanley cup enthusiast, I marked that date on my calendar.
I woke up early that Friday, thinking I’d casually stroll into my local Target and pick one up. Boy, was I wrong! When I arrived, there was already a line of people snaking around the aisle. It felt like everyone and their mother had the same idea. I joined the queue, a little disheartened but still hopeful.
After what felt like an eternity, I finally reached the display, only to find… a nearly empty shelf. There were a few left, but not in the color I had my heart set on. I really wanted the Glinda, a special color of this cup. Disappointed, I grabbed one of the remaining ones anyway. I mean, it’s still a Wicked Stanley cup, right?
- Went online to check the Target website.
- Found that they were already sold out online, too!
- Decided to stick with the one I had.
Later, I saw some posts online about the craze surrounding these cups. It’s crazy how popular they are! Apparently, Stanley’s annual sales have skyrocketed since their Quencher cup became a hit on social media. From $75 million to $750 million in just one year! They really hit the jackpot with that design. I guess it’s a combination of the cup’s quality – it really does keep drinks hot or cold for ages – and the fact that it became a trendy item.
My Takeaway
Even though I didn’t get the exact color I wanted, I’m still pretty happy with my Wicked Stanley cup. It’s a nice reminder of a musical I love, and it’s a solid, well-made product. Plus, it’s kind of cool to be part of this whole craze, even if it meant battling crowds at Target! Next time, I’ll definitely be quicker on the draw and try my luck online first!
