Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout these here white bags. I seen ’em all over the place lately, and lemme tell ya, they ain’t just for rich folks no more. Everybody’s carryin’ ’em, from the young’uns to us old hens.
Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, mind you. I just know what I see. And what I see is a whole lotta white. Big ones, little ones, shiny ones, plain ones… you name it, they got it in white. I reckon it’s ’cause white goes with ever’thin’, ya know? Like that ol’ black dress I got, goes with ever’thin’. Same thing with these here white bags.
I seen some fancy magazines at the store when I went to town to pick up some feed for the chickens. Them magazines had pictures of all sorts of these white bags. They called ’em “Resort 2025 collections” and “spring 2025 runways.” Sounded mighty highfalutin’ to me. But the pictures, well, they was just bags. White bags.
- Some of them was big enough to carry a whole mess of groceries.
- Others was just tiny little things, barely big enough to hold a lipstick and a few coins. I reckon those are for the city gals who don’t need to carry much more than that.
- And then there was the ones with all the fancy doodads on ’em. Chains and buckles and whatnots. Shiny stuff that catches the light. I ain’t got no use for that kinda thing myself. Too much flash for my taste.
The magazines also said somethin’ ’bout “fall/winter 2024 runway” and somethin’ somethin’ “east-to-west bags.” I ain’t got a clue what that means, but I guess it’s important to them fashion folks. All I care about is if a bag can hold my stuff and if it’s sturdy enough to last. And I reckon a white bag can do that just as good as any other color.
Now, some folks might say white gets dirty too easy. And they’re probably right. But that’s what soap and water is for, ain’t it? A little bit of elbow grease and that white bag will be lookin’ good as new. Besides, a little bit of dirt don’t hurt nobody. Shows you actually use the thing, right?
I tell ya what, I’ve seen these white bags at the grocery store, at the church, even at the county fair. They’re everywhere! And it ain’t just the young folks carryin’ ’em neither. I seen plenty of ladies my age with a nice white bag on their arm. So, I reckon it’s a trend that’s here to stay for a while. At least until them fashion folks decide somethin’ else is the new hot thing.
And you know what else? I even seen some men carryin’ white bags! Not the purses, mind you, but like those big ol’ tote bags. They was usin’ ’em to carry their tools or their lunch or whatever. So, I guess it’s safe to say that white bags are for everybody, not just the ladies.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a new bag, I say go ahead and get a white one. It’ll go with ever’thin’, it’ll hold your stuff, and it’ll make you look like you know a thing or two about fashion, even if you don’t. And don’t worry about gettin’ it dirty. Just give it a good wash now and then and it’ll be good as new. That’s what I always say: a little bit of dirt never hurt nobody.
Now, I gotta go get back to my chores. But you think about what I said, ya hear? White bags. They’re the next big thing. Or maybe they already are the big thing. I don’t know. I’m just an old lady, what do I know about fashion? But I do know a good bag when I see one, and these white bags, well, they ain’t half bad.
