Okay, so let me tell you about my recent obsession: the Speedy 30. Yeah, I know, it’s not exactly a new bag, but this classic has been on my radar for ages. I finally decided to go and check it out in person. First, I started to browse the real product video online, oh my god, there are so many bloggers sharing their unboxing video on it. Some folks think it’s outdated, but not for me! This bag is a freakin’ legend!
So, I headed to the store. My first impression of the Speedy 30 was great, it’s super lightweight. You can stuff a ton in there without feeling like you’re lugging around a brick, which is perfect. Then, I saw the Speedy 25 and Speedy Nano. They’re cute and all, but way too tiny for my everyday needs. I need space for my wallet, phone, keys, makeup, maybe a light sweater, you know, the usual stuff. I heard that 25 is better for people who are shorter than 5’6″. I’m not, so it’s not very suitable for me.
There was another version called the Speedy Bandoulière. I did a little research and found out the main difference is that it has a shoulder strap, which is a game-changer! The regular Speedy is hand-held only, which can be a pain sometimes. The Bandoulière also has some extra leather details, giving it a slightly more structured look. So I tried it on, crossed it, wore it on my shoulder… it was love at first sight! The strap makes it so much more versatile. I can wear it however I want, which is perfect for me because I’m always on the go. Then I picked up the regular one and held it on my arm, it is not bad, very elegant and classic.
I know some people think the Speedy is a bit “old school” or “Y2K” or whatever. I found it online when browsing some fashion websites, but there are so many styles and I cannot ensure that they are authentic. But I’ve seen it on so many stylish people lately, and it totally works with modern outfits. Plus, it’s an investment piece. I know it will last me forever and it retains its value pretty well, if I decide to sell it someday. In my mind, I imagined that I held it, and walked on the street, everyone was looking at me.
So, did I buy it? You bet I did! I went for the Speedy 30 Bandoulière, and I haven’t regretted it for a second. It’s the perfect size, the strap is a lifesaver, and it just looks so chic. I’ve been using it every day since I got it, and it goes with everything. Seriously, if you’re thinking about getting a Speedy, just do it! You won’t regret it.
