Okay, so, I wanted to share my little adventure with styling my a-line denim shorts. I’ve had these shorts forever, and they’re super comfy, but I was kind of stuck in a rut, always pairing them with the same old t-shirts and sneakers.

First, I rummaged through my closet. I found this oversized linen shirt that I’d almost forgotten about. It’s light blue and has this relaxed vibe. I tried it on with the shorts, and it was already looking better than my usual combo. Then I remembered seeing someone wearing fisherman sandals, and I happened to have a pair. I slipped those on, and wow, it actually looked pretty decent, kind of polished, even.
Feeling inspired, I decided to try something a bit fancier. I grabbed a pair of heeled sandals from the back of my closet – they’re black and strappy. Then I added a black blazer that I usually wear to work. I looked in the mirror, and I was honestly surprised. It looked like something you’d see in a magazine, all put-together and stylish.

Next, I wanted to make the shorts look even more worn-in. I’d seen people do this online. I carefully took a pair of tweezers and started pulling out some of the threads at the bottom of the shorts and from the hem to make them more frayed. Then, I just threw them in the washing machine. I figured the washing would help with the fraying, and it totally did! They came out looking perfectly distressed. And that’s it, I did it, and my shorts got a whole new life!
Honestly, it was so much fun playing around with different styles. It’s amazing how a simple pair of denim shorts can be so versatile. I’m definitely going to be experimenting more with my wardrobe from now on.
