Okay, so, I wanted to make something fun and unique, and I thought, “Why not try making jewelry out of pasta?” Yeah, you heard that right, pasta! I’ve seen some cool stuff online where people turn everyday things into awesome jewelry, so I decided to give it a shot myself.
First, I gathered all my materials. I picked up some different shapes of pasta – bow ties, penne, rotini, you name it. I figured the more variety, the better. I also grabbed some yarn and string. After that I got some food coloring, glitter, and glue. I wanted to make these pieces pop, you know?
I started by coloring the pasta. I boiled some water, added in the food coloring, and dropped the pasta in. I let them soak for a bit until they got to the color I wanted. It was pretty cool watching them change colors. Once they were done, I laid them out to dry on some paper towels.
While the pasta was drying, I started playing around with designs. I took some yarn and started threading the dried pasta onto it. I mixed and matched different shapes and colors to see what looked good. For some pieces, I decided to add a little extra sparkle, so I brushed on some glue and sprinkled glitter over them. It was a bit messy, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
After a few hours of experimenting, I ended up with a bunch of different pieces.
- I made some necklaces by stringing together the colored bow tie pasta, and they looked surprisingly chic.
- I also made a few bracelets using the penne and rotini, alternating the colors and shapes.
They turned out pretty cool if I do say so myself. I even wore one of the necklaces out, and I got a bunch of compliments. People couldn’t believe it was made out of pasta!

Making
Making pasta jewelry turned out to be a really fun and rewarding project. It’s amazing what you can create with a little creativity and some everyday items. I’m definitely going to try this again, maybe with different materials next time. Who knows what I’ll come up with?
