Alright, let’s talk about this Kylie lip gloss, you know, the one all the young’uns are yappin’ about. I ain’t no fancy makeup expert or nothin’, just a regular person who likes to look a little presentable when I go to the store or bingo night.
So, I heard about this Kylie girl and her makeup. Seems like everyone and their grandma is wearin’ it. I figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a try. I saw some ads and they were sayin’ it’s “so cute” and you can wear it “everywhere,” so I thought, well, maybe I’ll look “so cute” at the grocery store, you know?
First off, let me tell ya, this stuff ain’t cheap. I mean, for a little tube of shiny stuff, it costs a pretty penny. I guess that’s what happens when it’s got a fancy name attached to it. But you know what they say, you get what you pay for, right? Sometimes. Not always, I tell ya, not always.
I got myself a tube of that Candy K gloss. Yeah, Candy K. Sounds sweet, don’t it? I ain’t sure what a “Candy K” is, but the color looked nice in the picture, a kinda pinky-brown shade, like that wild rose bush that grows by the fence. Now, I bought this thing a while back, maybe in 2017 or so, but I didn’t use it much. Back then I just slapped it on once or twice, but it mostly just sat in my drawer with all my other what-nots.
- The Good Stuff
Now, I gotta say, the color is real pretty. It’s not too loud or flashy, just a nice, subtle color that makes my lips look a little bit better. And it does make my lips feel kinda soft and smooth, not all dry and chapped like they usually are. And it’s got a nice shine to it, not too glittery or sticky, just a nice, healthy-lookin’ shine.
I read somewhere that some folks say it’s “worth it when they go on sale.” Well, I don’t know about that. I paid full price, which felt like a whole lot of money for somethin’ so small. But I guess if you can snag it on sale, it wouldn’t be such a bad deal.
- The Not-So-Good Stuff
But here’s the thing, and this is where I get a little peeved. I heard you’re supposed to throw these things out after two years! Two years! Can you believe that? I mean, I got clothes older than that! And they still fit, mostly. Why would somethin’ you put on your lips go bad so fast? Seems like a waste of money to me, but I guess that’s how they get ya to buy more, huh? I also heard that this Kylie girl’s stuff ain’t sellin’ as much as it used to. Maybe folks are finally wisenin’ up like me!
And then there’s the applicator. You know, that little stick thing you use to put the gloss on? Well, I don’t much care for it. It’s kinda… flimsy, I guess. And it doesn’t seem to pick up enough gloss, so I gotta dip it back in the tube a bunch of times. It’s a pain, I tell ya. It’s not the worst thing in the world, but it’s certainly not the best, someone even wrote a whole “comprehensive review” about it! Can you believe it? People got too much time on their hands, I tell ya. They said it’s “fine,” but not the greatest. I kinda agree with that.
Another thing, I seen somewhere that you gotta “prep your lips beforehand.” Prep your lips? What in the Sam Hill does that even mean? I ain’t got time to be “preppin’” my lips. I just wanna slap on some gloss and go. If I gotta do a whole song and dance just to put on some lip gloss, well, that’s just too much trouble for me.
Overall, what do I think? Well, it’s alright, I guess. Not the best lip gloss I ever used, but not the worst either. It’s pretty, it makes my lips feel soft, and it has a nice shine. But it’s expensive, you gotta throw it out after two years, and the applicator is kinda annoying. And don’t even get me started on this “preppin’ your lips” nonsense. I tell you what, if you wanna try it, go ahead. But don’t say I didn’t warn ya. And maybe wait for a sale. Or better yet, just go get some of that cheap stuff at the drugstore. It probably works just as good.
And one more thing, I hear you can buy this “kylie cosmetics lip gloss” online, and some places even give ya “envo gratis con Amazon Prime” or somethin’ like that. And there’s sales on some app and on “*.” Sounds fancy, but I’ll stick to buyin’ my stuff in person, thank you very much. Less trouble that way.
