Okay, so, a while back, I got this wild idea to put on an erotic fashion show. Yeah, you heard that right. I mean, I’ve always been into fashion and, well, the spicier side of things, so I thought, why not mash them up? It sounded awesome in my head, but pulling it off was a whole other story.
First off, I had to figure out who would even be into this kind of gig. I started hitting up some local designers I knew, and surprisingly, a few were totally down. They were like, “Yeah, let’s do something different!” Then, I needed models. I put out some feelers on social media, you know, Instagram and those places, looking for folks who were comfy in their skin and wanted to strut their stuff in a, shall we say, less-than-usual fashion show. I got a bunch of responses, some totally off the wall, but also some really cool, confident people who were perfect.
Next up was finding a venue. That was a real headache. A lot of places were like, “Uh, no thanks, that’s not our vibe.” But I finally found this cool, kinda underground art space that was into the whole idea. The owner was super chill, saying stuff like, “We love pushing boundaries here!” So, that was a win.
- Contact designers
- Find models online
- Scout for a venue
Then came the actual planning. I worked with the designers to create outfits that were, you know, sexy but still classy. We’re talking lace, leather, the whole nine yards. I remember one designer coming up with this amazing see-through dress, and we all were just like, “Wow, that’s the one!” We had a few rehearsals, which were a blast. Everyone was a bit nervous at first, but once the music started, they totally got into it.
Show Time!
The night of the show, I was a wreck. I was running around backstage, making sure everyone was ready, fixing last-minute stuff. But once the first model hit the runway, and I saw the crowd’s reaction, I knew it was all worth it. People were cheering, whistling, totally into it. It was such a rush!
After the show, we had a little after-party, and everyone was buzzing. The models were feeling themselves, the designers were getting mad props, and I was just relieved that it all went off without a hitch. We even got some local press coverage, which was wild. Some people were all scandalized, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
Honestly, it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. It was a ton of work, but seeing it all come together and seeing people enjoy something so out there, it was amazing. Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s definitely not your average fashion show, but that’s what made it so special. And the whole process, from reaching out to people to seeing it live, was just a wild, wild ride.
