Okay, so I saw this thing online about color-changing lip oil and I just had to try it out. I mean, who wouldn’t want a lip oil that magically changes color? I got all my stuff together and got started. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit of a process, but totally worth it in the end.

First, I grabbed a clean, empty lip gloss container. You know, the kind with a wand applicator. I wanted to make sure it was totally clean so there wouldn’t be any weird stuff mixing with my lip oil. Then, I picked a clear lip oil base. I found one online, nothing too fancy. I carefully poured that into my container, leaving a little space at the top.
Now for the fun part – the color-changing stuff. I got this powder, it’s called a “color-changing pigment” or something like that. They had a bunch of colors, but I went with a pink-to-red one. I added just a tiny bit of this powder to the lip oil. I mean, really tiny, like a pinch. You can always add more later, but you can’t take it out, you know?
- Clean, empty lip gloss tube
- Clear lip oil base
- Color-changing pigment powder
- Small spoon or spatula
- Paper towels (for any spills)
I used a small spoon to carefully mix the powder into the oil. I stirred it real slow to avoid making a mess. Once it seemed like the powder was all mixed in, I popped the wand back into the tube and gave it a good shake. I wanted to make sure everything was really blended together.
Then came the moment of truth – I tried it on! I applied the lip oil just like any other lip gloss, and at first, it looked clear. But then, after a few seconds, it started to change color! It went from clear to a light pink, and then to a deeper, rosy red. It was like magic! I was so stoked, I couldn’t stop looking at my lips in the mirror.
I wore the lip oil around for the rest of the day, and it lasted for a pretty long time. It wasn’t sticky or anything, which was great. And the color kept changing depending on the temperature, which was super cool.

My Own Tips
This was my first time trying to make a color-changing lip oil. I have learned some tips.
- Start with a small amount of pigment, like really small.
- Mix the pigment and oil slowly and patiently.
- Test on your hand first to see the color change.
Overall, I’d say this was a successful experiment. I had a lot of fun making it, and I ended up with a pretty awesome, unique lip oil. If you’re into DIY beauty stuff, I’d definitely recommend giving this a try. Just be patient, don’t rush it, and have fun with it!
