So, I got myself a new Shark watch the other day. Looks pretty slick, but figuring out how to set the darn thing up was a bit of a head-scratcher at first. I mean, it’s got all the bells and whistles – time, date, stopwatch, timer, alarm, even a backlight for when you’re out in the dark. Plus, it’s water-resistant up to 100 meters, which is great since I love hitting the beach.
Anyway, I started by fiddling around with the buttons. There are four of them: MODE, START, RESET, and LIGHT. I figured the MODE button was the key, so I pressed it a few times. The display started cycling through different modes – normal time, stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, and dual time. I kept pressing it until I got back to the normal time mode.
Next, I tried holding down the RESET button. I held it down for a few seconds. Didn’t work. I pressed it several times, but nothing happened.
Then, I noticed that in the instruction manual it mentions holding the RESET button while pressing the MODE button to toggle the hourly chime on and off. I tried that, and sure enough, it worked! A little chime icon appeared on the display, and then disappeared when I did it again.
Okay, so how do I actually set the time? I went back to normal time mode and pressed the MODE button three times. That took me to the time setting mode. The seconds started flashing. I pressed the RESET button to move to the minutes, then the hours, then the date, and so on. Each time I wanted to change a setting, I pressed the START button to adjust it.
- Press MODE three times to enter time setting mode.
- Press RESET to cycle through seconds, minutes, hours, date, month, and day of the week.
- Press START to adjust the flashing setting.
- Press MODE once to exit time setting mode and save your changes.
Once I had everything set the way I wanted, I pressed the MODE button one more time to save the changes and go back to normal time mode. And that was it! I finally had my Shark watch set up and ready to go.
It took a little bit of trial and error, but I got there in the end. It wasn’t too bad once I figured out the logic of the buttons. Now I can use all the features of my new watch, and I’m pretty stoked about it. I hope this little rundown helps anyone else who’s trying to set up their Shark watch.
