I wanted to share my little adventure with one of the most expensive Cognacs out there – the Henry IV Cognac. Yeah, you heard that right, it’s a pretty big deal in the world of spirits. So, I got my hands on a bottle, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience.

First off, getting this bottle wasn’t easy. I had to look at many shops, and the price was, well, let’s just say it wasn’t cheap. But hey, I was curious, and I wanted to see what the fuss was all about.
Tasting
- Sniffing it out: I popped the cork and took a whiff. It smelled really strong, but also kind of sweet and flowery. Not what I expected, to be honest.
- Taking a sip: Then came the taste test. I took a small sip, let it sit in my mouth for a bit, and swallowed. It was super smooth, like, surprisingly smooth. There was a bit of a burn, but in a good way. The taste? It was complex. I could taste a bunch of different things – some fruity notes, a bit of spice, and a hint of something I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
- Thinking it over: After the first sip, I just sat there for a while, thinking about the taste. It was definitely unique. Like, I’ve had Cognac before, but this was on another level.
The Aftermath
After the tasting, I did a little digging online. I found out that this Cognac is aged for like, a hundred years, and the bottle is dipped in gold and has diamonds and stuff. No wonder it’s so pricey!
So, was it worth it? Well, it was an experience, that’s for sure. It’s not something I’d drink every day, or even every year. I also looked at some online market, such as Mercari, which is the largest marketplace in Japan, and found that many people are reselling it, even some empty bottles. But as a one-time thing, it was pretty cool. I mean, how many people can say they’ve tried Henry IV Cognac? Also, I learned a lot about Conduct of Code, which is about emotional things.
And that’s my story about trying out this fancy Cognac. It was a fun little adventure, and I’m glad I got to share it with you all.
