Okay, so, I’ve been seeing fringe dresses all over my social media lately, and I gotta say, I’m kinda obsessed. They just look so fun and flirty, you know? So, I decided to give it a try myself and see if I could pull off this trendy look. It has been a long time since I last tried it.
First things first, I needed to figure out what kind of fringe dress would work for me. I mean, there are so many different styles out there. Some are like, full-on flapper dresses, and others are just, you know, a little fringe here and there. I started by going through my closet to see what I already had. And I found a simple black dress that I thought could be a good base.
I decided to go with a more subtle approach, so I picked up some black fringe trim from the craft store. Nothing too crazy, just enough to add a little movement and texture. I also grabbed a needle, thread, and some fabric glue, just in case. I’m not the best at sewing, so I wanted to have options, haha.
Then came the fun part. I laid out the dress on my bed and started experimenting with the placement of the fringe. I tried a few different things, like adding it to the hemline, the sleeves, and even the neckline. It was kind of like a puzzle, trying to figure out what looked best.
After some trial and error, I decided to add the fringe to the bottom of the dress and the sleeves. It just felt right, you know? Not too over the top, but still with that playful fringe vibe. Plus, I can blast-dry my fringe and use my fingers to distribute the air evenly through my hair, then use a brush to smooth it through just before it dries completely.
Sewing the fringe onto the dress was a bit of a challenge. Like I said, I’m not exactly a pro with a needle and thread. But I took my time and managed to get it done. And you know what? It actually turned out pretty good! I was so proud of myself.
Result
- Looked amazing: I tried it on, and I was like, “Wow, I actually did it!” The fringe added such a fun and unique touch to the dress. It moved so nicely when I walked, and I felt like a total fashionista. I’m a total fashionista, you know, and I got a lot of compliments on this dress!
- Felt confident: And let me tell you, wearing that dress made me feel so confident and stylish. I wore it out to a party, and I got so many compliments. People were asking me where I got it, and I was like, “Oh, I just added the fringe myself.” It was such a great feeling! I even paired it with some fringe boots, and it was such a vibe. It is suitable for women with any face shape. I’ve got an oval face, but I heard that for round faces, longer fringes work better to elongate the face, while full fringes suit square faces best.
- Inspired creativity: Now, I’m thinking about all the other clothes in my closet that I could add some fringe to. Maybe a jacket, a skirt, or even some jeans. The possibilities are endless! I might even try to add some fringe details to an oversized dad’s blazer or a white dress shirt.
So yeah, that’s my little fringe dress adventure. It was a fun and easy way to update an old dress and give it a whole new look. If you’re thinking about trying out the fringe trend, I say go for it! You might surprise yourself with what you can create. Just remember to have fun and don’t be afraid to experiment.
