So, I wanted to make some clover bracelets the other day. I thought they’d be cute and fun to wear, especially with summer coming up. I started by looking up some ideas online, just to get a feel for what I wanted. Found some cool designs, but nothing too complicated. I just wanted something simple, you know?

First, I gathered all my materials. I already had a bunch of embroidery floss in different shades of green, which was perfect. I also grabbed some scissors, a ruler, and some tape. I figured I’d need tape to hold the floss down while I was braiding.
Next, I cut the floss. I decided to use three strands of each color, and I made sure they were all about the same length, around 30 inches. That seemed like a good length to make a bracelet that would fit my wrist comfortably. I didn’t want anything too big, that just felt like it’d be too much, and if it was too small, well that wouldn’t be great either.
- Cut three strands of each color.
- Measure each strand to about 30 inches long.
Then came the braiding. This was the trickiest part, to be honest. I started by tying all the strands together at one end, leaving a little bit of a loop. I taped the knot down to my table and then I started separating out the strands. Oh boy was this part tougher than I thought it would be. I tried my best to make the knot as small as I could but it kept coming loose. Eventually I was able to get it tight enough, and I taped it down to the table. I kept trying to separate the strands, but they kept getting all tangled and messed up. But I tried to stay patient and keep working at it. I kept messing up the pattern, and it was taking forever. But I kept at it, and eventually, I started to get the hang of it.
I decided to do a simple four-strand braid for the clover leaves. I followed a pattern I found online, and it was actually pretty easy once I got into the rhythm. Then separated out six strands to create the base of the bracelet. I did a simple braid for the base of the bracelet, and then I attached the clover leaves to it. That part was a bit fiddly, but I managed. Once I finally got the pattern down, it went pretty smoothly. It was actually kind of relaxing, just sitting there and braiding.
Once I had braided about six inches, I tied another knot and cut off the excess floss. And that was it! I had a cute little clover bracelet. I made a few more in different shades of green, and I think they turned out pretty well. I decided to add a simple knot on each end of the bracelet to tie it together. I think it turned out pretty good, considering it was my first time making something like this.

My Thoughts
Overall, it was a fun little project. It took a bit longer than I expected, but I’m happy with how they turned out. It’s not perfect, but I like it. It’s a nice reminder of summer, and it’s something I can wear every day. I might try making some more in different colors, or maybe even try a more complicated design next time. Who knows? It’s a good way to de-stress, that’s for sure. I might even try making some for my friends. I think they’d like them. Or maybe not. We’ll see.
