Oh, honey, you wanna hear about them celebrities on the red carpet? Well, pull up a chair and let me tell ya. It’s somethin’ else, all them fancy folks dressed up like they’re goin’ to the queen’s ball.
Now, I seen a thing or two in my day, but these red carpet events, they’re a whole different animal. You got your movie stars, your singers, your… well, I don’t even know what some of ’em do, but they sure do look pretty. Or at least, they try to. Some of it, well, it’s a bit much for my old eyes, if you know what I mean.
Celebrities and Dresses
First off, you got the dresses. Lord have mercy, the dresses! Some of ’em are so sparkly, you could see ’em from the moon. Chrissy Teigen, that’s one of them, she wore a dress, it is all shiny. They got more glitter than a Christmas tree. Then there’s the ones that are so long, they’re draggin’ on the ground. How they don’t trip, I’ll never know. Must be some kinda magic.
- Some got feathers.
- Some got beads.
- Some got… well, I don’t even know what you call it. Just a whole lotta somethin’.
And the colors! Every color you can imagine, and then some. Bright pinks, bright blues, bright… well, everything’s bright. It’s like a rainbow threw up on that red carpet. Shakira, you know her, she love bright dress, she always look good. I seen her picture in one of them, all those stars on her dress. Stars, like the sky. It is nice.
Shoes and Hair, Oh My!
Then you got the shoes. Now, I’m a practical woman. I like a good, sturdy shoe that’ll get me where I need to go. But these celebrities, they wear these heels so high, it’s a wonder they don’t topple right over. I wouldn’t be caught dead in somethin’ like that. I’d break my neck for sure! I always look at those celebrities on the red carpet, they look good.
And the hair! Oh, the hair. They got it piled up high, they got it curled, they got it straightened, they got it every which way but loose. I don’t know how they do it. Must take ’em hours. My hair, well, it’s just plain old hair. I put it up in a bun and call it a day. These celebrities on red carpet, they look good, all this hair.
Jewels and Shiny Things
And don’t even get me started on the jewelry. Diamonds the size of your thumb! Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, you name it. They’re drippin’ in it. I reckon they could buy a whole farm with what they got hangin’ off ’em. I just wear my wedding ring. It is all simple and plain, not like those celebrities on red carpet.
Anne Hathaway, she wear a mini, it is also shiny. She is pretty, I like her movie. All those celebrities, they like shiny things. I guess when you’re that rich, you can afford to sparkle. Me, I’m happy with my little ol’ house and my garden. Don’t need no diamonds to make me happy. Those celebrities on red carpet, they need, I don’t.
All for Show?
But you know what? Sometimes I wonder if it’s all just for show. Do they really enjoy wearin’ all that stuff? Do they really like standin’ there, smilin’ for the cameras? Or do they just do it ’cause they have to? It’s hard to say.
Kristen Stewart, she always wear pants. She look good, different from others. Maybe she don’t like all those dress, all those girly things. That Niecy Nash-Betts, she is big and beautiful. They all look good on red carpet, but it is all different.
One thing’s for sure, though. It’s a sight to see. All them celebrities on the red carpet, all dressed up and lookin’ fancy. It’s like a whole different world. A world that I don’t really understand, but it’s sure fun to watch.
It is Just a Show
And you know what else? It’s all over in a flash. They walk that red carpet, they pose for the pictures, and then they go inside to whatever fancy party they’re havin’. And the next day, it’s like it never even happened.
But the pictures, oh, the pictures stay. They’re in all the magazines, on all the TV shows, on all… well, everywhere. You can look those celebrities on red carpet everywhere. And people like me, we sit and we look at ’em, and we wonder what it’s like to be them. Even for just one night. To wear the fancy dress, to have the fancy hair, to be… well, a celebrity.
But then I think, maybe it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Maybe it’s better to just be yourself. To wear what you want, to do what you want, and not have to worry about what anybody else thinks. Red carpet is good, but it is not for me.
So, yeah, those celebrities on the red carpet, they’re somethin’ else. But me, I’m just happy to be me. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
