Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya ’bout this gal, Taylor somethin’-or-other, always showin’ up at them football games. Seems like she’s head over heels for that fella, Travis Kelce, plays for the Chiefs, ya know? Football, it ain’t my cup of tea, but this Taylor gal, she’s somethin’ else. Always smilin’ and clappin’, like she understands the whole dang thing.
This here Taylor, she’s a busy bee, I tell ya. Singin’ and dancin’ all over the place, they call it a “tour,” like she’s travelin’ in a wagon or somethin’. But she still finds time to go watch her fella play ball. That’s what they call love, I reckon. Reminds me of when my old man used to go plow the fields, and I’d bring him some water and a sandwich. Different times, though, different times.
Anyways, this Taylor girl, she was at the Chiefs game again the other night. Not this past Sunday, mind you, cause she had to go do her singin’ somewhere far off. Vancouver, I think they said. Heard it on the radio, while I was makin’ some biscuits. But before that, she was there, cheerin’ and whatnot. Wears all black sometimes, like she’s goin’ to a funeral or somethin’, but she looks happy enough, I guess.
- She goes to all sorts of games, all over the place. Kansas City, that’s where her fella plays.
- Sometimes she’s there, sometimes she ain’t. Got her own things to do, I s’pose. But she shows up when she can.
- Folks get all riled up about it, takin’ pictures and writin’ in the newspapers. Famous people, I tell ya, they can’t even sneeze without somebody writin’ about it.
Heard tell she went to five games this season already. Five! That’s a lot of football, even for someone who likes it, which I don’t. But she seems to enjoy it, rootin’ for her fella and all. They even said she was there when the Chiefs beat them Broncos. Don’t know much about the Broncos, but I reckon they ain’t as good as the Chiefs, or Taylor wouldn’t be so happy.
And let me tell ya, folks are talkin’. Everywhere you go, it’s “Taylor this” and “Travis that.” They even got a name for ’em, like they’re some kind of royal couple or somethin’. But at the end of the day, they’re just folks, like you and me. Well, maybe not exactly like you and me, seein’ as how she sings in front of thousands and he throws a ball around for a livin’. But you get the gist.
One time, she wasn’t there for a couple games, and folks were wonderin’ where she was. Like it’s anybody’s business! She’s a grown woman, she can do as she pleases. But then she showed up again, all smiles, and everybody went back to talkin’ about how cute they are together. Young love, I guess, it’s a powerful thing.
So, this Taylor gal at the Chiefs game, it’s a regular thing now, it seems. She comes, she cheers, she leaves. And the world keeps spinnin’. But it’s somethin’ to talk about, I suppose. Gives us old folks somethin’ to gossip about while we’re sittin’ on the porch, sippin’ sweet tea. And that, my friends, ain’t a bad thing at all.
I don’t know nothin’ about that ‘Eras Tour’ thing they keeps talkin’ about on the radio, but that girl sure does love them Chiefs and that Kelce fella. Good for her, I say. Findin’ a bit of happiness in this crazy world, that’s what it’s all about.
Folks keep sayin’ this was her last game afore goin’ off singin’ again. Guess she’ll be back, though. Love’ll do that to ya, make ya go to places ya never thought ya’d go, watchin’ things ya never thought ya’d watch. Land sakes, love is a funny thing.
